Paddlers for Life is a registered charity 1121539. Their aims and objectives are to improve the health and well being of cancer survivors, particularly Breast Cancer, through the invigorating sport of Dragon Boating. They are based at the Low Wood Hotel on the banks of beautiful Lake Windermere.

Why a Dragon Boat Group?

Once the treatment of breast cancer is over, perhaps chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, you may become aware of feeling ‘on your own’. Returning to real life can sometimes seem daunting and uncertain. Away from the network of medical support, we are suddenly back in charge of our bodies, thinking about building health and fitness.
Being able to do those things in the company of others who have travelled the same path can often help restore the confidence and energy to enjoy a full and active life despite breast cancer. All over the world women are demonstrating their ‘can do’ attitude as they take part in Dragon Boating.
It is all about having fun, trying new things, meeting interesting people and being involved in a challenging physical activity. It’s a great time to investigate PaddlersforLife on Lake Windermere. So 'Get fitter', ' Make new friends' and ' Have fun'!
Our aims:
1, To promote awareness and education.
2, To demonstrate people can still lead a full and active life despite breast cancer.
3, To provide support and fellowship to those who want to participate.
